Why London is hard for a group of 6

London hotel rooms are among the smallest in Europe, and most cap at two or three guests. Serviced apartments are usually the realistic route for a family of five, and even then two-bedroom units are the exception rather than the rule.

Worth knowing: none of the 5 properties here that publish a bed layout gives all 6 travellers a fixed bed. The standard large-family unit in this market is two bedrooms holding four fixed places, with the fifth coming from a sofa bed.

How we chose these

Every property here meets one test: The property publishes at least one room or apartment whose stated maximum occupancy is six or more. We read that from the property’s own website, record the date, and link the source on each card.

Where a property publishes nothing — no bed breakdown, no bathroom count — we leave it blank and say so. Read the full methodology.

Before you book

  • Published capacity is what the property states, not a confirmed booking. Rules can differ by date, and some properties count a child differently from an adult.
  • If a sofa bed is part of the count, ask who it’s meant for — and whether it costs extra. Several properties here charge for it.
  • Cots and extra beds usually sit outside the stated maximum and may carry a fee.
  • We don’t show live prices or availability. Check those with the property.

Do you show live prices?
No. We publish researched room information with the date we checked it. We’re not connected to a booking system, and we’ll say so plainly if that changes.
Is “sleeps 5” the same as five beds?
Often not. Where a property publishes its bed layout we show it, and we count how many travellers get a fixed bed rather than a sofa bed.
