13 hours is a long day for an 8-year-old, whatever the age limit says.
Multi-generational
A toddler, two sets of parents and grandparents is the trip where every published limit bites at once — the age bands, the booking cap, and a fare that multiplies by ten. It is also where getting it right saves the most.
Age. Operators publish the ages they sell to, and plenty start at eight, ten or eighteen. Bring a three-year-old and a quarter of the best-reviewed experiences are closed to you before you begin — a fact you normally meet at checkout.
Capacity. A single booking has a maximum. At seven that rules out 9.2% of what we read; at ten, 25.7%. The consequence is not a refusal but something worse — two bookings, two departure times, and the group you came to travel with split in half.
Price. A per-person fare multiplies by everyone, grandparents and toddlers included. A per-group booking does not: at ten, a median private booking is about $30 a head against $85 for a shared tour. The crossover happens at five.
Only 54.1% of the catalogue works for a party of ten without splitting up or leaving somebody behind — versus essentially all of it for a couple. That gap is the entire reason this site exists, and it is widest exactly here. Enter your group once, including everyone’s ages, and every card answers for all of you.
