The short version
We do not ask you to create an account, we do not ask for personal details to use the site, and we do not sell data. The family details you enter in the search form are used in your browser to choose which of our pages to show you.
What we collect
Analytics
If analytics are enabled we use Google Analytics 4, and optionally Microsoft Clarity, to understand which pages people find useful. These collect standard technical information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device type, and referring site. IP anonymisation is enabled for Google Analytics. We use this in aggregate; we do not use it to identify individuals.
Advertising measurement
Where we run paid advertising, the Meta pixel is enabled so we can tell whether an advert brought somebody who found the site useful. It records page views and outbound clicks to booking partners, and Meta may match that activity to a Meta account it already holds. It is a cross-site tracking technology and we would rather say so plainly than bury it. You can block it with browser settings, an extension, or your Meta ad preferences, and the site works normally without it. It loads only when we have configured it; on a site with advertising switched off, no pixel is served.
Your family details
The number of adults and children and your children’s ages are the inputs the whole site runs on. They are stored in your own browser so you do not have to re-enter them on every page — never on our servers, and never attached to a name, email address or account, because we hold none. The same local storage holds the experiences you save to your shortlist and the last few you viewed. Clearing your browser data removes all of it, and using the site in a private window leaves nothing behind.
If analytics are enabled, the party size and children’s ages may also be recorded as an aggregate event so we can see which family configurations people are looking for.
If you email us we hold your message and address in order to reply.
What we do not collect
- No accounts, passwords or profiles
- No payment details — we never take payment
- No booking data; we have no access to any reservation you make
- No family details on our servers — your party and shortlist stay in your browser
- No selling or sharing of personal information with data brokers
Cookies and local storage
The site itself sets no cookies. It does use your browser’s local storage for the three things above — your party, your shortlist and your recently viewed experiences — which stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.
If analytics or advertising measurement are enabled, Google Analytics, Clarity and the Meta pixel set their own cookies. You can block all of these with browser settings or an extension, and every part of the site continues to work.
Third parties
Following an outbound link takes you to a site we do not control, governed by its own privacy policy — most often Viator, and for accommodation the property or booking platform. If the link is an affiliate link, that provider may set a cookie to attribute a booking to us; see our Affiliate Disclosure. Experience photography is served from the supplier’s content network, which means your browser requests those images directly from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Since we hold almost none, this usually means email correspondence. Contact us at hello@tripsthatfit.com.
Children
This site is intended for adults planning family travel. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Children’s ages entered in the search form are used to pick a page and are not tied to any identity.
